Mr. Lawrence
I am so excited to be your music teacher at Constitution. While I am new to Constitution, I am not new to teaching. I have my Bachelor's of Music from University of Arizona (go Wildcats!). I spent the first part of my career teaching high school band in the Scottsdale Unified School District. I came to the Deer Valley School District in 1999 as a general music teacher at Paseo Hills. During my time there, I had an elementary and middle school chorus and taught drama after school. In 2006, I received the DVUSD Teacher of the Year award. I went back to school and got my Masters in Educational Leadership and was Asst. Principal at Terramar Elementary in 2009. For the past two years, I have been the director of the Deer Valley Mandarin Project, an innovative language program at Gavilan Peak and Diamond Canyon.
Outside of the classroom, I lead worship at a local church and do some directing and acting at a local community theater company. When I'm not doing that, I'm spending time with my wife and four children, playing guitar or piano, or working on website designs or photography.
